Beer Glass FRESH: Freshly Honoured
The beer glass FRESH stands out not least because of its unusual proportions. It handsome shape attracts attention and has only just been honoured with the sought-after design award of the Land Rhineland-Palatinate. The prestigious competition for outstanding product developments featuring form, colour, material, function, significance and environmental friendliness is conducted every two years by the Ministry of Economics of the Land Rhineland-Palatinate.
The competition jury applauded the beer glass FRESH as an excellent example of modern product design. “Its first impression is one of a purist, clear, genuine and yet elegantly stylish appearance. A plain but fresh design that sets new standards in catering and hospitality. A beer glass that stands out. A beer glass for style-conscious consumers and beer lovers looking for something special.”
At a festive ceremony on 27 November 2007, Raymond Sahm-Rastal and Carsten Kehrein, Chief Designer at Rastal, received the award from the hands of Mr Hendrik Hering, Minister of Economics, and Mr Karl-Heinz Scherhag, President of the Chamber of Handicraft Koblenz.
Carsten Kehrein says: “We are proud that the jury has recognised the value of reduced, understated shapes. Reduced shapes are timeless, and timeless shapes stand a good chance of becoming design classics. This encourages us to continue in our quest to find the best possible synthesis of creativity and functionality in glass design for our partners in the beverage industry.”
The beer glass FRESH was presented to the public for the first time at the BRAU BEVIALE 2007.
